The event

Domus Persona is the leading international exhibition and cultural event for supporting health and enhancing quality of life in the home.

The event aims to act as a meeting point for people’s needs, knowledge (skills and technical/organisational know-how) and existing solutions (products, services and opportunities), enhancing the well-being of the individual, including the elderly and people with disabilities. The goal is to encourage continued living in one’s own natural surroundings for as long as possible.

On the backcloth of today’s socio-demographic changes, Domus Persona intends to bring about an evolution of the traditional welfare system. This is demonstrated in the clear need to shift from mere social-health interventions to a reorganisation of the community, that meets real needs, integrating and capitalising on knowledge and solutions of actors both public and private.

Health and quality of life

Domus Persona is unique in “putting the person at the centre”. The concept of “health” is extended to include “quality of life”, understood as the outcome of the interaction between a person and the factors surrounding them.

Being able to remain in one’s own home surroundings, continuing one’s regular life in full autonomy and safety and participating in social and family activities is a source of well-being for everyone.

It is with this in mind that spaces, starting out from the living environment, should be planned, redesigned, and organised in order to guarantee accessibility rights to all individuals (art. 19 of the UN Convention on Human Rights...).

The organisers

Domus Persona is organised by Fiera Trieste along with the Friuli Venezia Giulia Regional Office for Health and Social Welfare and Office for Employment, Universities and Research, in collaboration with the Veneto Regional Office for Health Policy, the Lombardy Regional Office for Health, and the Trieste Chamber of Commerce. Also participating in the event project are local institutions from Slovenia and Carinthia (Austria) and Confcooperative Federsolidarietà, Federsanità, ANCI and ASSODIS (Friuli Venezia Giulia health districts association).

 

Why take part

Domus Persona gives exhibitors a platform to present their own solutions for improving health and quality of life at home to a specialist public.

The event offers the opportunity to become part of the welfare evolution and identify openings for business.

Specialist members of the public will be attracted by the event’s broad programme of ECM-certified conferences and seminars. In addition, there will be a series of information and awareness-raising events, open to all citizens.

Target visitors to Domus Persona include:

• managers and administrators in social health, hospital, local health agency (ASL), clinic, public service management;
• managers and administrators, commercial and marketing figures in medical/scientific and pharmaceutical enterprises engaged in the sectors of ICT, e-health, ambient assisted living, personal services, welfare and health support;
• managers and administrators in the service industries (cooperatives, associations, foundations) active in social care, social health and personal services;

Seminars, conferences and workshops

Domus Persona is to offer a rich programme of meetings and events of information and training, to raise-awareness and disseminate knowledge about solutions for health and enhanced quality of life at home.

The meetings have been suggested by sector experts, and propose an analysis of various scenarios, trends and lifestyles related to health and care. Businesses present will also be able to assess potential for developing their own products and opportunities for applying their own skills and know-how.
